Any creative people based in the Preston area?

I wondered if there are any creative people based in the Preston area. if so there is a really good visual arts project coming up in preston soon. its called the Hope Art project and basically its a group of volunteers from different (christian) churches who are inviting people from all backgrounds and abilities to express what Hope means to them through visual art. Its completely free, in fact we even provide the materials. (unless of course someone plans on making a multimillion pound sculpture) Workshops will be taking place on Monday evenings throughout the autumn (starting mid september) and all the work created will be collected together and put on as part of an exhibition.

How's your Hope Art project going? have you finished your painting yet?

Are they doing the project all over, or is it just a Preston thing? because I have noticed a 'Hope Barnsley 08' too on a church near Barnsley town centre and also a 'Hope 08' at the Pentecostal Church around here where we live now.

Hope Art is going really well. We had a meeting the other night when we saw some stuff that people want to put on display.

The Hope Art Project is just a Preston thing; afterall it was my idea. Hope08 however is a national thing, with people organising in their locality. So theres a Preston Hope08, a Barnsley Hope08, a Leeds Hope08 and a Cardiff Hope08. Its really good what they are doing. Its all about Christians working together to bring positive change to their community. It includes everything from teenagers litter picking to street theatre, music concerts, soup kitchens for the homeless and prayer meetings.
