Online Status & Inserting Emoticons
Hello....just wondering whether it was possible to have the following:
a) a symbol next to the member details (when looking through the threads) to show whether they are online (rather than having to go into their profile) and;
b) how do I insert a smiley (emoticon) in between text? I only seem to be able to do this AFTER the last thing I typed. So for example, I type three lines but then decide I should have put a smiley between line one and two. It won't let me do this and I have to delete lines two and three, insert my smiley after line one, then type lines two and three again. Is it me....am I missing something? If not, can anything be done about this?
Thanks,
Tixy

Re: Online Status & Inserting Emoticons
Hi Tixy!
firstly, the 'online' status is at the top right hand side of everybody's post (if they are online!) it shows. it looks like this
so anyone that doesn't have an 'online' thing at the top of there post when you are reading through the threads, aren't online.
also, to check who's online, if you click on the 'Portal' button at the top of the forum, it takes you to the portal page where there is a load of things you can see! Down the left hand side, it say who's online! any new posts in general chat come onto that page too. There's also a calendar so you know when birthday's are coming up, also song of the week, that sort of thing. The portal page is the main forum page for all information.
Just to add to the above, if you see that online picture and notice that member isn't online on the portal page, bare in mind there can be a delay, so they could have been on then gone again, but it takes time to go away. Also, it can show somebody online, but doesn't on the portal page, this can mean they are online, but either in the middle of a long post or are signed in but away from their PC for a time.
The emoticons, do appear at the bottom of your post if you forget to include them at the time of writing or if you decide later that you wish to include an emoticon further up your page afterwards. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about this, so what you need to do here is, once you have finished typing your post and you decide you want an emoticon, say for example on the first line. Just click on the emoticon you wish to include and let it go to the bottom of the post, then all you do to get round this is, copy the text for example
:l o l: and paste it where you want it to go. Then go and remove the text :l o l: at the bottom of your post and then click send.
Sounds difficult, but it really is simple. Hope you followed that.

I also meant to add here that the Portal page shows all the latest topics on the scroll on the right hand side.
