Share you taste in music
Hi all, this topic just came to me as i posted in the interesting website section. (take a look at my post)
Thought it might be interesting to share our music taste with each other using this website.
When you do a search it give you a URL which you can put in your posts so others can listen to your favourite song, or songs....
I'll start the ball rolling then
An oldie
This one reminds me of growing up with my granny, one of her fav groups..... i remember playing this on her old valve driven gramaphone on one of those black things with a hole in the middle (vinyl record )
I must have been only about 4 or 5 at the time but grew up to love this song, pulls at my heart strings even now

Re: Share you taste in music
Neptune what a really good post this is. You now started me off and the tears will probably follow shortly
Afraid this ones abit more sad rather than a good memory. So hopefully somebody somewhere will have some nice memories.
I was doing my level 2 counselling course at college, when i heard that my grandad had gone into hospital at the time, I knew he was close to the end although he did have a good innings as they say 94yrs old.
We had to put together some kind of talk to the rest of the class, talking about a subject that you were interested in or show some work like pictures you had drawn, personal stuff that was meaningful to you. The project meant doing anything that had meaning to you like writing a poem or something of which i did and read it out in front of the class. So i played my keyboard at home and recorded myself playing it. The keyboard reminds me of my grandad as i always used to play it for him when visiting. To cut a long story short i played this song
My Way
on the keyboard and took the keyboard into college for my presentation. I had them all crying. (unless that was just bad playing i dont know lol
) no seriously, i told them that my grandads time was near and thats why the words stand out in this song as i used to play this song alot at his house as well.
I'm sure i'll have more to post in here.
Thanks Neptune for the interesting post. Musics a very emotional thing.
So if any of you have any particular songs that hold meaning like your wedding song, kids favourite song, grannys song, trip down memory lane or just a song that you like without any meaning. Then get posting.

Re: Share you taste in music
Here's somethinbg to make me go
but what the heck
Story goes something like this.... when i was very young, maybe 9 or 10 year
old i was in the church choir but i hated going to practice, so what i
did was find any songs that sang in my key, so along came the
stylistists and i was in heaven, it used to drive everybody in the
house mad as Elvis was king in our household, and there i was with my
stylistists (they were very worried about me
)
In a "butch" voice i now present you with that album

I like a different variety of music, just about anything from classical to rock music and trance.I find some trance music quite meditive.

Give it ago..search for a track yourself by clicking on the link above,it will then start playing the song ive selected for you to listen to,to search and get your own just click the link above, close down the black box where the x is,click home on the left hand side then type in a song or artist in the big box where it says 'millions of songs, find yours'.find the song you want, copy the link at the side and copy and paste onto your post here on the forum.

Re: Share you taste in music
Yes that Is a beautiful song, I love that one too! I have the albumn it came from 'All Angels'. I bought it for my mum one christmas, and somehow ended up with two of the same cd's,and i like it that much,i kept the other one!and last week, i asked wingman to put this albumn on the forum for me, for people to listen too! but couldn't find the MP3 copy that I had on my PC,and the actual cd is in storage somewhere!
Thanks for sharing it Faeriesrfree
Claire x
we both love this one too http://listen.grooveshark.com/song/Ave_Maria/2909158 reminds me of my mum and grandma,as her dad who i never met (he passed away before my older sister was born in 1970) so never got to meet him xxx but it reminds my mum of her dad,and reminds me of mum talking about her dad alot.Just wish i could have met him.
xxxAlso love 'Songbird' from this albumn too. But i love the origional artist 'Eva Cassidy' just love her music.
http://listen.grooveshark.com/song/Songbird/203272 Eva Cassidy
http://listen.grooveshark.com/song/Fields_Of_Gold/184015 Eva Cassidy (love to play this one on the keyboard)
http://listen.grooveshark.com/song/Over_The_Rainbow/184016 Eva Cassidy
Over the rainbow is a beautiful song. Reminds me of Nathan too as it was one of the songs wingman uploaded to Nathans babysite just after Nathan was born in November 2007, when he was still in hospital on the special care unit and we were waiting for him to come home.
Right that's enough, gone all emotional now.

Although I think this kind of music is nice and relaxing, i prefer my dance music. But still, its nice to listen too and its nice to hear others taste too.
Look forward to hearing more.

p.s. i posted my choice of song further up on this thread, not sure whether you've heard it or not.may not be everybodys cup of tea though.

I did listen to it HG and I like that a lot as well. I don't listen to dance music often anymore because it puts me in the mood to go out and that is not a luxury I get to indulge in very often anymore. I do listen to it still in the car if it's going to be a long drive. Keeps me awake

Re: Share you taste in music
It's great dance music isnt it, really makes you feel alive and want to go out and party! I usually listen to dance music when im getting ready to go out, it makes it much more enjoyable and gets me in the mood for my nights out.
I understand, there's nothing worse than getting all psyched up when you're not off out. I felt strange tonight as this is the first in many Friday nights that I haven't been out in town for months! decided to save up abit,as i have a few bills to pay, plus think i needed a bit of a rest. Feels odd though posting on the forum on a friday night and also stone cold sober too! I bet i sound like a right beer monster to all of you! I can asure you i'm not, i don't actually drink that many when i am out, its just i get drunk very easily believe it or not!!
well hope you enjoy your night out Faeries whenever you're going too. Have a great time.
