a bad habit! yeah its a great way to get rid of the salt you accidently spilt, is more like it Very Happy

It's suprising really according to that article what we actually do that they call superstitious. I've just thought of another one they say is bad luck and thats 'putting your shoes on the table' not that i put my shoes on the table but i think that superstition is just an easier way for your mother to tell you that your shoes are not allowed there and tell you it will bring bad luck, when really it's just unhygenic an a much easier option for her to get you to remove them without the back chat! lol!

Certainly some interesting points on here. I do half of that stuff and not really sure whether i believe in superstition, but do things automatically like salute a magpie if there's only one of them. One for sorrow,two for joy and all that. If there's only one, you salute it.No idea where that came from. I also do the salt over the shoulder thing and never put up an umberella indoors.

This topic and the article spirit searcher has posted has really made me re think things now. Found it very interesting.Thanks. Smile

This is a great post! I am a supersticious person and finding out the origin's of them is very interesting. However I will continue to do the little rituals as I've done them for so many years now I do them without thought now.

Yes i think you just go on auto pilot after a while. Although im not superstitious,i do find myself doing a few things in relation to it,just in case lol.
